A closer look at Best Friends Cat & Dog
A kitten sits upright in front of a larger puppy, the pair leaning into each other with the dog's head above and behind the cat's. Both are smiling straight out of the page and there is no background at all.
23 areas, all of them large. The only thing that needs a decision is where the two animals overlap — the cat's ear crosses the dog's chest, and if both are filled the same colour the pair merge into one shape.
Give them contrasting coats and the drawing does the rest: an amber tabby against a cocoa puppy, or a slate-grey cat against a honey dog. Blush for the inner ears and both noses ties the two together without matching their bodies.
