A closer look at Cute Baby Mermaid

127 areas. The tail scales are drawn as a proper overlapping grid rather than suggested, and there are enough of them to matter — two tones alternating across the rows is quicker than filling each and gives the tail a shimmer a flat fill cannot.
Give the turtle a colour the mermaid does not use, or the two characters merge at the left edge. A jade tail, honey hair and a cocoa turtle works. Leave the pearl white with only a faint grey curve — it is the brightest object in the drawing.
