A closer look at Majestic Winged Unicorn (Pegasus)
A winged unicorn rears in flight above a mountain range, both feathered wings spread wide and drawn feather by feather, its mane and tail streaming behind. Banks of cloud pass below it and the peaks are drawn in fine hatched line.
807 areas, and the wings are most of them — rows of overlapping feathers that get smaller towards the shoulder. Work them row by row rather than feather by feather, and let each row sit a shade darker than the one outside it; that is what gives a wing depth.
Wings in a warm white with grey shading at the roots, so they stay feathers rather than becoming a pattern. Keep the mountains below in cold pale greys and the clouds nearly white — the more washed-out the landscape, the higher the animal appears to be flying.
