A closer look at Cozy Gingerbread House
A gingerbread cottage iced along every eave and window frame, with swirled lollipops, gumdrops and peppermints set into the snow around it, a candy path leading to an arched door, and two small fir trees at the corners.
624 areas, and the piped icing is nearly all of them — scallops, dots and swirls edging the roof, the door and every window. Icing only reads as icing if it stays white or near-white, so this is a sheet where the small shapes are the ones to leave alone.
Cocoa and chestnut for the gingerbread walls, white icing left unfilled, then the sweets as the colour: crimson and white peppermint spirals, jade and rose gumdrops, butter lollipops. Keeping the house brown and the candy bright is the whole trick.
