A closer look at Mandala Wing Butterfly
A butterfly with its wings opened flat and filled with mandala banding — concentric rows of teardrops, dots and petal shapes that follow the curve of each wing out from the body.
615 areas arranged in clear bands, which is the easiest kind of detail to colour well: work one band at a time all the way across both wings rather than one wing at a time, and the pattern stays in register. The dots between bands are the smallest targets.
Mandalas reward a rotating sequence over a free-for-all. Pick three or four colours and repeat them band after band in the same order; the eye reads the repetition as design, where random placement reads as noise no matter how carefully it is filled.
Print it at 100% rather than “Fit to page” — the 12 mm margin is already in the PDF. The printing guide covers paper weight, ink and the print-dialog settings that matter.
