Tropical Rainforest Butterfly coloring page

Exotic morpho butterfly resting on broad jungle monstera leaves. It is drawn as clean black outlines on white and centred on an A4 page with a 12 mm margin, so your printer will not clip an edge.

It mixes broad areas with finer detail, which works for school-age children and adults alike. Colouring it in here splits the drawing into 129 separate areas — click the bucket into any of them, or switch to the brush for shading that has no outline of its own.

A closer look at Tropical Rainforest Butterfly

A large butterfly drawn over a background of split monstera leaves, the leaves broad enough that their fenestrations become shapes to colour in their own right.

Only 129 areas, and they are unusually large — the monstera splits are the interesting ones. The butterfly and the leaf behind it overlap, so decide early which is in front; colouring both green makes the butterfly vanish.

Two or three greens in the leaves, deepest at the back, with the butterfly in something the foliage does not contain at all — crimson, amber, or a hot rose. Contrast is doing all the work on this sheet, not detail.

Print it at 100% rather than “Fit to page” — the 12 mm margin is already in the PDF. The printing guide covers paper weight, ink and the print-dialog settings that matter.

Colour Tropical Rainforest Butterfly in your browser

Pick a colour, then click inside any outlined area to flood it. The brush and eraser handle the parts that have no outline, and Undo goes back as far as you like. Everything happens on your device — the sheet is never uploaded, and your progress is remembered here so you can come back and finish.

On a phone or tablet, open Tropical Rainforest Butterfly in the studio — the same canvas with the page around it cleared away, so the sheet fills the screen. Your colours carry over either way.
