Armored Ankylosaurus coloring page

Heavy-armored dinosaur with club tail defending its territory. It is drawn as clean black outlines on white and centred on an A4 page with a 12 mm margin, so your printer will not clip an edge.

It mixes broad areas with finer detail, which works for school-age children and adults alike. Colouring it in here splits the drawing into 619 separate areas — click the bucket into any of them, or switch to the brush for shading that has no outline of its own.

A closer look at Armored Ankylosaurus

An ankylosaur crosses the sheet in full profile, its back and flanks tiled with rows of oval scutes and a ridge of spikes running from shoulder to hip. The bony club on the tail is held clear of the ground at the left edge, and ferns and palm fronds close in behind it.

The armour is the work: 619 separate areas, most of them the size of a single scute. Lay one shade across the whole back first, then go over individual plates a tone darker — filling each from scratch is slow, and the rows stop reading as armour once the shades drift apart.

Olive and slate over the back with chestnut scutes keeps it reptilian rather than toy-like. Sand on the belly lifts the animal off the jungle behind it, and using two greens in the ferns instead of one stops the background collapsing into a single mass.

Print it at 100% rather than “Fit to page” — the 12 mm margin is already in the PDF. The printing guide covers paper weight, ink and the print-dialog settings that matter.

Colour Armored Ankylosaurus in your browser

Pick a colour, then click inside any outlined area to flood it. The brush and eraser handle the parts that have no outline, and Undo goes back as far as you like. Everything happens on your device — the sheet is never uploaded, and your progress is remembered here so you can come back and finish.

On a phone or tablet, open Armored Ankylosaurus in the studio — the same canvas with the page around it cleared away, so the sheet fills the screen. Your colours carry over either way.
