A closer look at Bouquet of Blooming Roses
A gathered bunch of roses drawn in botanical style — four open blooms with their petals spiralling from the centre, three tight buds on stems, and long serrated leaves fanning out below and to the sides.
318 areas, and the open roses are the whole exercise: each petal wraps behind the next, so the spiral only reads if the inner petals are shaded darker than the outer ones. Filling a rose in one flat tone turns it into a cabbage.
Two or three strengths of the same red is more convincing than three different colours — crimson at the heart, rose in the middle ring, blush at the outer petals. Ivy leaves with a lighter green along the veins, and buds a shade deeper than the open flowers.
Print it at 100% rather than “Fit to page” — the 12 mm margin is already in the PDF. The printing guide covers paper weight, ink and the print-dialog settings that matter.
