A closer look at Easy Autumn Leaf Mandala
Ten big fall leaves stand in a single ring around one large plain circle in the middle of the page, each leaf pointing straight outward with its stem touching the circle. Every leaf has a toothed edge, a centre vein and a few side veins, and small triangle-shaped gaps sit between the leaf bases.
A gentle first mandala: the centre circle and the ring of leaves are all big shapes that suit chunky crayons and small hands. The gaps between the leaf bases are narrow slivers, so use the tip of a felt-tip there or simply leave them white. The leaf veins are open lines, so in the online colouring game each leaf fills as one shape.
Go round the ring in a repeating pattern of two or five autumn colours, such as red and orange, and the leaves will read as a wreath. Fill the slivers between the leaves with a soft green or leave them pale, and save the big centre circle for a name, a drawing or a thank-you message.
